Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is the e-ticketing arm of Indian Railways.

This new website (www.refunds.idianrail.gov.in) has been developed by the CRIS (Centre For Railway Information System), which also maintains and keep running the most popular Indian Railways websites – www.indianrail.gov.in.
The Indian Railways allow passengers to cancel their train ticket either at the railway station counters or online (depending upon the mode of reservation) until the chart preparation on the date of departure of a train, which is usually four hours prior to the train departure.
Simple Steps On How To Check Your Train Ticket Refund Status
In order to check the status of the cancelled train tickets in real-time, kindly follow the below-mentioned steps: –
Step 1: To check the refund status of a ticket, log on to www.refunds.indianrail.gov.in
Step 2: Go to the ‘Refund Status’ section of the website.[su_note]Note: Under this section, the passenger gets two options to see the status of their ticket.[/su_note]
- Check Status Through PNR Detail
- Check Status Through Refund Reg. No.
Step 3: The first option lets the passenger check the refund status of their railway ticket under through PNR detail. To check the status through this option the passenger has to enter his/her Passenger Name Record (PNR) Number and has to select the Date of Journey.
Step 4: If the passengers opt for the second option then he/she has to enter the “Refund Registration Number” and the “Reopen Count”.
Step 5: After entering the details, the passenger can simply click on “Status” and see the refund status. That’ it.
