Just a few months back, Huawei announced its flagship Huawei P40 series for the year. Like always (precisely from 2016) Huawei has added a lite model to its flagship lineup this year- the Huawei P40 Lite. The smartphone which is a trimmed-down version of its powerful siblings packed quadruple cameras, a tall 6.4-inch LCD panel, and the proprietary Kirin 810 mobile platform.

But with Chinese firms rushing to be among the first manufacturers to offer cheap 5G-enabled devices, Huawei seems to have joined the donnybrook with its new Huawei P40 Lite 5G phone.

The new Huawei 5G-enabled smartphone bundles a few tweaks and enhancements in terms of hardware as compared to the standard P40 Lite version.

Huawei P40 Lite 5G Specifications and Features

The Huawei P40 Lite 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a cutout for housing the front camera. Underneath sits a custom Kirin 820 octa-core processor. While the P40 Lite has a box-shaped camera module on the rear side, the 5G version features a vertically aligned camera setup that is placed at the top left corner of the device.

The camera configurations aren’t the same either. The all-new Huawei P40 Lite sports a 64MP primary camera (the former packs a 48MP camera) with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with aperture f/2.4, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth camera both with f/2.4 aperture.

At the front, you get a 16MP camera for taking selfies and making video calls. The power button and volume keys sit on the right side of the phone.

On the software front, Huawei P40 Lite 5G runs Android 10 OS which layered on top of EMUI 10.1 custom skin.

The phone has a slightly smaller battery package as compared to the standard variant. The 5G version packs a 4000mAh battery, while the standard P40 Lite comes with a 4200mAh battery.

Both the devices offer 40W SuperCharge fast charging support. For biometrics, the new Huawei phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
